Bua Boxing aims to bring approachable, accessible, and most importantly authentic boxing training and coaching to the vibrant community of Astoria, New York. Our experienced coaches are dedicated to elevating your boxing skills, improving your endurance, and sharpening your mental discipline. Most importantly, we want you to have fun and be a part of our friendly and rapidly expanding community. Whether you’re a seasoned boxer or completely new, Bua Boxing is for everyone.
Our Coaches
Donal Ward
Originally from County Roscommon, Ireland, Donal has been boxing since he was 7 years old. He has over 150 fights under his belt - winning 4 All-Ireland Boxing Titles, 14 Connaught (regional) Titles, and representing Ireland in the famous green vest all over the world. He has competed and won medals in numerous international tournaments, including the Four Nations Championships, Multi-Nations Tournaments, European Championships, the World Police and Fire Games, and most recently competed in the 2019 Ring Masters final in Madison Square Garden.
Donal, a certified IABA and USA Boxing Coach, comes from a long line of boxing heritage, both his Father and Grandfather established their own boxing clubs in Ireland. Donal following in their footsteps, established Bua Boxing Club in January 2024, to fulfill his passion of coaching and training amateurs.
